It is popularly said that a cluttered room embodies a cluttered mind, and it is also true that decluttering gives you a sense of clarity not only physically but also mentally. So, in this blog, we will be sharing some decluttering tips which will help you keep your surroundings, especially your bedroom clutter-free.
Keep Your Bedroom Clutter Free
Regular Cleaning
Start taking out 10-15 minutes of your day to just sweep and clean your bedroom, so that the dust doesn’t start building up. Anything done every day is easier than something done after the pile of dust settles like an ant mountain.
Storage Spaces
Do not let anything in your room sit randomly outside. Store everything from dirty laundry in the laundry bag to extra bed sheets and blankets in a storage bed. If your budget doesn’t allow you to buy a new storage bed then you can always improvise and rent a bed with space below to place storage baskets under it.
Wardrobe Cleanse
When it comes to messes, the most popular mess seems to be in the wardrobe for most people. Most of the clothes are recklessly stored and waiting to be put out of their misery. The biggest key player in the case of a messy wardrobe, for most people, is compact or confined storage space. In this case, you can either get rid of a few clothes or rent a wardrobe to maintain a proper organization system.
Contain The Clutter
The bedroom is the place where accessories and precious compact items fall victim to the vastness of the space compared to their own size. Missing earrings, watches, and hair clips are just a few examples, but this can be changed if you start organizing and sorting these small clutters into boxes and assigned places. You can use trays, small boxes, or even pouches.
Ditch The Broken
According to Feng-Shui and Indian Vastu, having broken items in your living space, especially your bedroom, attracts negative energy. Even if you don’t believe in Feng-Shui and Vastu, it is always good to get rid of broken materials as it also brings down the overall look of the room. You can start the process by fixing everything that is broken and then ditching everything which cannot be repaired.
Clean Mattresses Matter
Using the same mattress without airing it regularly or getting it vacuumed at least once in three months, can be the root cause of many health-related issues. Your mattress is the most negligible part of your bedroom and not cleaning it is as bad as sleeping on a pile of bacteria, slowly crawling out for your soul. If you’re a lazy cleaner then you can opt for an easy way which is to rent the mattress out for 3 months and when it is time for the quarterly vacuuming you can rent out a completely new and clean one.
To make a place aesthetically pleasing and comfortable it is not always important to buy new things and stuff the room beyond measure, sometimes all you need to do is embrace your minimalistic instincts and declutter the rest.
