Sales Letters
Sales letters are usually sent by a business to promote a new product or new service that they are offering their customers. Sometimes, this can be considered junk mail. Other times, it may be a sale or promotion that you are genuinely interested in.
These are usually sent out for marketing purposes and are designed to get customers’ attention when they see them.
Letters of Authorization

Letters of authorization are typically sent when the person who writes it cannot perform the act in the letter in person. An example can be someone who does not want to attend an investors’ meeting and authorizes someone to go in their place and act on their behalf.
Letters of Application
Another type of letter that can get sent through the mail is a letter of application. There is one big circumstance when these can be used.
This is when someone is applying for colleges or graduate schools. They are more likely to have to send an actual letter to the university in hopes that they will be accepted into the school.
Letters of Acceptance
Going along with letters of application, letters of acceptance can also be a common letter sent to people. For universities, this will typically be the university sending a letter to the applicant informing them that their school is willing to accept them as a student.
These can be important to make sure that they show up unsealed and that they are delivered in a timely matter.
